CHRISTOPHER (CHRIS) ALEXANDER WOLOSHYN

January 7, 1966 - January 13, 2024

It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of our cherished father, son, brother and uncle. Chris passed away on January 13, 2024 at Health Sciences Centre, surrounded by his family and special friend.
He is survived by his children, Alexander, Catherine and Olivia; his parents, Alex and Marilyn Woloshyn; his sisters, Maryann (Paul), Rose and brother Mark (Leanne). He leaves to mourn his nephews, Michael, James and Daniel and niece Chanda (Josh) and their children, Jessie and Jaxon.
Chris was born January 7, 1966 in a 1955 Buick en route to the Selkirk hospital. He lived his life thereafter with much adventure and excitement.
Chris obtained his business diploma from Red River Community College and music degree from University of Winnipeg.
He was very proud of his children. Alexander inherited his sense of adventure and curiosity. Olivia inherited his Ukrainian dancing genes. Catherine inherited his love of piano. Chris expressed himself through music and played piano by ear. He was often referred to as Liberace and played any song by request. Fool’s Overture by SuperTramp was one of his favourites.
Chris had a great sense of humor and was a captivating storyteller. He had many friends and was the type of person to strike up a conversation with anyone. He had the ability to make you feel like you were the center of his universe. In addition to the family, he will be missed by his sailing, fishing and motorcycle buddies, his special friend Melissa and his colleagues at FedEx.
Chris was unique and a trailblazer. He beat to his own drum, making his own music that we were able to listen. We will dearly miss him.
The family would like to thank HSC MICU especially Dr. Eric Jacobsohn and his team for their compassionate care. We are grateful for providing us with the opportunity to say goodbye.
Prayers will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at Blessed Virgin Mary Church 530 Donald Road, St. Andrews Manitoba. Funeral Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, January 22, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at the parish cemetery.
