These fans were nationally sold through their catalog desk, phone and mail-in orders from 1990 until 2001 yet I have never seen more than 5-models. I know Cole and I are the only two collectors who actually own two of their many fans. Cole has a 852-1007-02 and I have a Noah's Ark 854-1100. These fans are rarely listed on eBay and even more rarely made an appearance at any Craigslist. They are not that great, so why are they so difficult to find? Are the owners keeping them for their unique designs? I doubt it. The one you see listed more often (at eBay) is the Noah's Ark #852-1100 which is a 44-inch 5-blade made by Chien Luen Industries. So, what happen to all the others? I've seen pics online of fans from their catalogs with slightly variations like different glass shades or different blade colors but never a complete set identical to the ones from the catalogs. Never. |

I saw a PB 6-bladed hugger @ the Habitat in Canton, OH and it had a blade broken off it. |

There's a green one that's been at a local thrift store for months. I can't recall ever owning a late model JCP fan, though I had a few of their older relabled Moss fans, like the ones pictured in this 1984 Catalog: I had a #4, it was a cool fan, made by Broan. It was variable speed with a little heat sink similar to Casablancas Slumber Quiet except it worked! Sometime in the mid 1990's JCP did have a fan display at one of their stores in Illinois. Very similar to the later Montgomery Ward display except none of the fans were active, the lights didn't even have bulbs in them. |

I had to get a new wheel and hook to hang it with (I haven't installed it yet). I got those from Envirofan's website. Burried somewhere in a box in my parents' house are some clippings from some of their old catalogs also.

If I have some trouble with the new hook I'll just convert it to ball and socket. This makes me think of something unrelated, when did fans go from 1/2" downrods to 3/4" downrods? Almost all fans today come with 3/4" downrods, and I only know of a few vendors who still sell 1/2" downrods. |
